Field of study: Efficient photon pair sources for quantum communication, based on Spontaneous Parametric Down Conversion (SPDC) and light matter interfaces based on rare-earth doped material for fibre-based quantum networks. Thesis tittle: Towards a Real-World Quantum Repeater.
